I gave my heart fully, thinking that was the point — to love without fear, without limits. But somewhere along the way, I lost pieces of myself trying to hold onto someone who had already let go. The breakup didn’t just end a relationship — it shattered my identity. I woke up to empty texts, silent calls, and a version of myself I barely recognized. I cried in the car. I went numb at dinner tables. I smiled for friends while secretly unraveling inside. It felt like grief without a funeral. But healing doesn’t show up all at once. It crept in slowly — in small, quiet moments. A walk in the sun. A deep breath that didn’t feel like pain. A day where I didn’t think about them at all. I started to rebuild, not into the person I was before — but someone stronger, wiser, softer. I learned that my worth wasn’t tied to who stayed, but who I became when I stood alone. I stopped asking, “Why did this happen to me?” and started asking, “What can this teach me?” Now, I look in the mirror and see someone I fought hard to become — someone whole.
